Always Worried

"Mom, you are always worried about money...no wonder I am so worried." My daughter is right. I am always worried about money. It is not the need to have a lot, but it is the need to know we will be OK. Where did that fear come from? I don't know; maybe for my parents. They worried all the time too-but not as badly as I do. It is one of my addictions I guess.

I realize now that this is an area I need to yield to God. He has faithfully provided for us, so why the worry. I don't believe God will supply when I refuse to stick to a budget or be disciplined to Him. But if I never trust he will supply my needs, then I really don't have faith. Because the bible clearly says He will....so for me faith, I need more prayer. Then I must walk in faith: knowing God will provide. What a wonderful God we serve.

Daily Thanks

I was driving the other day and I realized I have so much to be thankful for. There is not a day I can't find joy. Just finish this sentence five times and see what happens...

I am thankful for....eyes to see.

I am thankful for a voice to speak.

I am thankful for friendships.

I am thankful for God.

I am thankful for life...

When I daily give thanks, I daily find joy: and that is what the Lord wishes for me...

Making the Journey...

Sometimes it seems my life goes no where. I feel like I am just doing circles and have no end goal. I get discouraged and want to give up...but Jesus wants us to keep going. It is when we push forward for the final goal we find God. He tells us he never leaves us or forsakes us...and that is a promise.  He will walk with us and make the journey worthwhile.

Isn't it fun to have friends?  I love my friends, but my best friend is God. Yes, God.  He tells us he wants to be our friends..isn't that good news? I hope you can find a friend in Jesus.
